#193... Can ya dig it?!

Attention Kittens! Kittens Everywhere!

I am so close to posting my 200th blab of nonsense(read:perfection), you can almost smell the cupcakes of celebration about to burn!! Can't you?! HA just kidding, I would NEVER burn a cupcake. Cruelty upon all levels.

As I was browsing my Google Reader(which was quite dusty) that I haven't been very loyal to, I curious'ed myself into clicking a picture one of my favorite bloggers had posted of a living room with globes as decor... Oh, what's that? You'd like to see?

[Here you go, sweet child]

How FUN, RIGHT? I'll be sad if you hate them.
I'm NOT a huge fan of the couch or pillows(or the rug =/), just the tastefully organized shelves of color-coordinated-delight and the GLORY GLOBES of  all variety...
The wall paint is nice too. Anyway...
My POINT IS as follows: Today I realized something very important.

A few weeks ago, I was in a vintage store and a Bother(name is irrelevant)
questioned my love for globes, in a devaluing-way to my opinion,
and at the moment I didn't have a specific response of WHY.

Well of course, I am not one to change my mind for the
cause of "Peer Pressure" (bah! what a filthy phrase), so I continued to love globes.
Upon seeing this picture, it sparked my memory of this conversation
and I re-visited what I should-have-could-have said.

Happily, in my brainthoughts, I replied:
"It's my home! I like to hold it and look at it
and I LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I AM."

All of a sudden, my brain was giddy and it made perfect sense.
I like to know where I am,
that's why I get discontent when I can sense that I'm not wanted
and unhappy and mentally exhausted when I am not "home" with the situation.
You know that warm, home-feeling, when things are easy and make-sense?
No matter where you are. Even if you're away from your element,
having someone or someTHING that makes sense
on-your-mind is comfort enough for the little-while-that-you're-away.

Globes aren't necessarily "home," in such a deep meaning, but they sure are cute.
I think old ones are neat to decorate with,
plus they're slightly educational and interesting as they've changed over the years,
and come in all sorts of fun colors!
Here's some wins; pass them out, there's enough to go around.

I just embraced a little more of myself today :]
So kiss off, schmucks who question my globe-love!
 *Flexes arms and growl face*
grrr! >:D
(you have to imagine-in the scrunch over my nose!)

Sorry it's been so long, I've been busy managing life,
but I'm not abandoning all my kittenfaces. Miss you!

Please take care :)

xox, Bex.

stories...

Let's flashback to high school...  ahh ok now & let's reminisce over 2 minute crushes... :) Don't you miss them? ...No? Me neither :]
Here's to the sentiment, though, and the THANKFULNESS that I don't struggle with this anymore...

10-19-2004

When I tell a story...
your stare is constant,
never faultering, to keep my eyes

very alive
I feel your aura
breathing into mine

will you finish
what you've begun
or let it hang empty,
like my hands?

=D Haha. So much truth to this.

Friday: you sweet, sweet melody I sing for all week.

Hallelujah. Literally :)
Friday has come, and Friday will go, but now here you are, so listen up YO!

"Firepits are where the BEST memories are made." -C.

True, yeah? Yup. Glad we agree. Last Sunday my dad mowed the lawn. And the sun was peeking around the corner, so I hauled the troops in for a small-within-city-limits-approved-bonfire. Here's the whole scoop. I can't START a fire, but once it's alive, I totally rock at keeping it burning. Also, Jessica said I could "make it in North Dakota" because I can chop a log into kindling. THAT'S WHATS UP.

Step 1. Jessica(green) gets the fire going.
Then Shelby(pink) gives him a mustache.
Personally, I think it's proportionate to his giant stature.
Step 2. Shelby claims the fire-pit as her own.
Much like how you claim your own food in the work-place refrigerator.

Step 3. Chop more wood to keep the fire burning.
And as I was the 'photog' for the evening, no one got a shot of ME ch-ch-choppin' it up. But here is an excellent action shot of Jessica with a nice swing.

I did however,  gather a rather dashing picture of my sweet pink Keds,
after I tore up a couple logs.
...wait that sounds bad....
I think they deserve a little spotlight.
Then Patrick hit a homerun, with a pinecone. His talent is beyond me.

See his lanyard? It's purple. Kiss that, Justin Beiber!
Oh that reminds me, I heard randomly that little J.B. got beat up by a 'fan'?
Anyone hear anything about this? Yeah me neither.... well..barely.

Back to my story - I'm easily distracted- Shelby had a rough time with her first marshmallow...

What you see here folks, is mellow, marshed all over her hand. I can't even fathom how you get that marshmallow goo all over the TOP of your fingers. The right pic is the marshmallow goo ON HER EYELASH. She had a rough evening, lets just say. At least no one lost an eyeball.

We managed to live thru it all.

Have a safe weekend! Live up those fire-pit moments, and holler
if you need me to chop any wood for ya.
I was killin' it.

<3 much, bex

'Tis time to pay Caesar. Oh wait, he's paying me!

Good Friday to you!
Have you all been good boys & girls, and filed your taxes already? I just did.
Lincoln is excited, but he's hiding his emotion here. He's not 'big' on being expressive.
Man! That is a crappy picture! Praxis! iPhone quality is only good on certain occasions.
*sigh*

You guys? I start school MONDAY. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I mean ... yay? *shakes in the corner* I'm nervous. Not only am I going to school.... but(emphatic pause).. I'm going to school. Does that make sense? OkayOkay lemme e'splain. I'm nervous. I hate school. I'm going back voluntarily. Ayy.
Geez, that wasn't so hard was it?

Well, my week was fairly uneventful, I've been preparing for the 28th(1st day of school) for about 2 weeks now. First it was "exciting, cause I get to sleep in for a week before!", then it was... "this is happening!" and now it's just... "[dread] UGH I'm gonna have homework and projects to do."
Ew, school, how dare you lure me!
:) Just kidding, I'm ready to start something new and to have a little "college" notch in my belt of various things I happen to be interested/dabbling in.
Ok now to enjoy my last weekend before I mentally throw myself back to 11th grade(including the black emo bangs)...I'm going out of town.

Nanner. Nanner.
:]

I only can give you what I love today.

CUTE! Things money cannot buy...
a site to remind us what little things make up the best parts of our day. :]

I think I have most of this list down... hopefully. :P Things everyone should know how to do!! I like it.

Check out this AH-MAZE-ING collection of people's "before & after" projects. The host of this website always has a funny addition to read, and my last sharing-is-caring moment of today....

1,000 Awesome Things. I'm pretty sure I've linked you to this before, but it's always got a freshly-posted-awesome-thing to let you secretly admit that you agree with!! :)

LOVE!

Jalepeno Heat, I mean heart!

Look everyone!My Food loves me!

Isn't that sweet? It's a heart for cryin' out loud!! I LOVE jalepeno's.
Yum.
I'm reading a book recommended by my friend Nicho, over here. Yes! He not only is a music connoisseur, but also WELL READ, and recommended to me The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. So far, it's so wonderful. I mean, here's how wonderful it is:
1.) I ALWAYS read the very last page of any book I read- by the
time I'm done with the 2nd chapter...Well, I'm on the 4th, and I haven't hit the last page up yet.
2.) The poetic prose is so heavy, I have to read the scenic description of any given room(usually only about 2 sentences long) TWICE, to grasp everything. And it's not even a flood-like swampy-ICK of too many words just hanging out where they don't belong(cough-this page is a good example of that-COUGH). THEY ALL BELONG. It's just not what I'm used to reading. And it's wonderful.
This is you right now... so overwhelmed with excitement, you just fell asleep, kittenface.
Randomness #2...
I am experimenting this coming week:
I am not wearing foundation powder(gasp! watch out!) on my face for 7 days, maybe longer, to see if my skin clears up a little. It's pretty discouraging when you're still getting teenage acne at 23. Oh AND I take very particular care of my skin, so it's kinda infuriating. Kinda...

Randomness #3...(last one, I promise)
I've been keeping a list of things, well thoughts.
Thoughts that I want to hold onto for more than the 2.3 seconds
that my brain gives them to pop in and out of my thinking-waves. Here are a few:
-Need to think more before I speak.
-I think it's funny that I always forget what I label computer files, at work. Not efficient of me, but humorous every time.
-Started to read "Shadow of the Wind" but had to return it for 3 weeks, because I procrastinated to renew it, before the due date rolled around. OOPS- another thing I found slightly funny.
- "Being a vegetarian doesn't require me to exercise, to maintain my weight." And I LOVE that. For now- while the sun is still hibernating. Talk to me again about that in a couple months.

Tell me your weekend plans, sugar-faces!
I miss you! :(
BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!
<3 <3 <3 xoxo bex

PS! This is for Paul:
Manliness, and warmth for each individual toe. You're welcome, interwebz.
[LAWLZ]. I told him I approved, for now. Since each toe DOES deserve it's individual warmth.

an article I wrote for another site...

Dear Public Automatic Flushing Toilets,

I am not fond of you.
Never was I, in the past, particularly in enjoyment of having my
hind end ogled by an anonymous technology.
But I endured years of your annoyances… flushing while I was still sitting down,
flushing too hard and lightly spraying the butt of my jeans with your tsunami swirl…
imagining that someday I’d HAVE to get used to you.
Today though, enough is enough.
As you screeched in the pitch to match a 6-year old’s terror, before the water even
began to stir, I would have peed my nylons, if I had not just gone #1.
So, just FYI… we are not longer distant friends. Not even the facebook friend
kindof distance, where you block them from seeing most everything blackmail-worthy.
I just kind of want to not sit down anymore.
Thanks for that, jackwagon.
<3, Bex.

Sick! Oh, the Tuesday TERROR!

Dove-faces, I have been sickly. Twice in 2 weeks!
I know, it's tragic. Please don't cry for me, I'm on my SECOND upswing.

But my reason for writing about it, is that I don't understand people who are NOT cleanly.
I mean honestly, it's not hard to wash your hands more than twice a day. It's not hard to cough into the crick of your ELBOW, instead of the palm of your hand. It's also very polite to do so. And Grandma, every time I cough is not an invite for you to tell me for the 19th time today to USE YOUR THROAT SPRAY.
I love you grandma.

Last Tuesday I came into work late, say 11-ish AM; TO KEEP FROM SPREADING IT. And Monday- I came in at 2PM; TO KEEP FROM SPREADING IT! And I'm caught up with all my work.
*shocker!*

Moral of the story: The world does not end, when you keep your germs to yourself.
SO DO IT.

I've been good. And I still got the sickness TWICE.
Needless to say, I treated myself to a cookie.
Maybe two.

CHECK OUT MY DELECTABLE APPLE BRAN MUFFINS I MADE LAST NIGHT:
Heavy on the cinnamon. Plus the cute decor.
Be kind this week, friends. We all need a little tenderness, as stated the late Frankie S.
<3
xoxo, bex

P.S. WHO WATCHED CONAN?!?!?!
OMGITWASSOFUNNY.
"Look at that Lunar Wobble!! HA! Just like the real thing!"
HA! Andy Reichter is such a good addition.
I thought Conan was gonna cry he was laughing so hard.

Are you ready for tomorrow's Tuesday treat?? :)

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

You're all James Dean fans, I know this..

You're welcome.
How can you not love this face?!
I have a feeling Brad Pitt got his look from someone else...
A whole new "I'm hot, but no need to show off" way to point to the gym.
ohhh me, oh my.
AND to finish it off! What a stud! :) Handsome in his ripe old age of 24.
You know he died at 24? Yeah, super sad. He would have aged gracefully.

Hence, my daily motto to those I love: DRIVE SAFE!!! Drive Defensively! :)

xoxo Red.

What are you going to do this weekend??

It's FRIDAY finally :) Again.
Rejoice! ...I SAY, REJOICE!!!!!!

If your town is supposed to be as awesome as MINE is this weekend, you'll be outside doing some sort of recreational activity. Of course, none of you will be nearly as cool as this guy:
Dude, I have those shorts.
Oh, Water skiing isn't your "thing" huh? Try this...
Yeah, that's James-freakin'-Dean... about to whoop you at Ping Pong!
Now this guy...
That's O.G.
HAHA! I guess I spoke too soon, here's a famous guy in his
pre-presidential candidacy.
Original Gangsta.
Hey, ya gotta get scholarships into College SOMEHOW... AMIRIGHT?!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
You could try tennis on-for-size. It's one of my favorite past times.
And Paul Newman's apparently.
No, really! Lookie, Doveface!

Alright, maybe he was a cheerleader too... but I mean, no one's judging YOU
for sitting here reading my blog all day! ;)

So maybe you're into the rougher things of life. Rifle Club, anyone?
These ladies look welcoming.
Dudes, look at Rhonda on the far right. She's mean-muggin' you, BAD.

I watched a Marx Brothers movie the other week with the Grandmother,
and they are SO FUNNY.
I don't have a photo of them being sporty, but if you're an
indoor-type-of-person-even-on-sunny-days(cough*HOMEBODY*cough)
then this photo is for you:

STOOGE! Well, of COURSE they're outside on this fine day.
As my dad is "that guy" who doesn't wear sunscreen out on the green, he also
is "that guy" to wear obnoxious plaid like Curly, here.
But it's sort-of acceptable at the driving range.
Right?
I HIGHLY encourage sunscreen, folks. All day, every day.
Go ahead, be THAT GUY who doesn't wear it. We'll see whose skin is riper than
30 year-old-leather when we're all 45!! NOT THIS GUY!
Even 8 SPF, with TANNING OIL built-in. Honestly, how lazy could you be, that you
don't appreciate a tan WHILE getting sun protection??
BTW: All caps, is a sarcastic tone, when you read this in your head :)

ONE MORE! I've always wanted to take up fencing. HAHAHA <3 Sofia.

So Doveface, whatever you decide to do this weekend, please be safe.
Don't break your faces(if you're me, that's ALL ya got going for ya), don't break any bones
and for the love of Havarti cheese DO NOT BLOW ANYTHING/ONE UP!
<3 xoxo please stay fun, too!!

Words I Over-Use & Words I Should Use More Often.

Words I Over-Use...

* Ridiculous (ex: "Ayy, that guy's mustache is ridiculous." ; "I have so many shoes, it's ridiculous.")
* Exaggerating (ex: "I'm NOT EXAGGERATING, the spider was as big as my hand!!!")
* Even (ex: "How much lettuce did they give you, even?!") Whether or not I use it properly, is none of your concern. Just remember that ;)
* Like (ex: "I don't think this like, even needs explained.")

Words I Should Use More Often...

* Preposterous! I don't believe you!
* Schmuck! Isn't it obvious how cool this word is? AND FOR THE RECORD, I started using this word a few times WAY before "Dinner for Schmucks" previews were out!
* Foul. I LOVE this word. It's so sassy and classy all at once.
* Logical. I feel like Spock when I say it. It hits the tongue nicely, don't you think?

And now I will leave you with a fantastic picture :)
Enjoy your weekend, Muffinheads! (hey! That's a good one...)

What are some words you need to start using, or stop abusing??

Relationship Lessons I Learned from Destiny's Child

- Do not let a triflin' scrub use your cell phone.
- Do not allow said scrub to borrow your car, unless he agrees by written contract to refill the gas tank when he returns it.
- Call AOL to have them cut off your email(obviously, duh) if your Inbox is full after 20 minutes.
- If he buys you shoes, forget that it happened. Hide them.
- Make it clear that he must ALWAYS address you by your full name, followed by "babbyyyy."
- You gon' make it(WHAT?), You gon' work harder(WHAT?!), You gon' be stronger(WHAT?!)

Hope these were as helpful to you as they have been to me!!

Keep on survivin'. What's that you say? You'd like a crumpet with your tea? Sorry, we only serve playa-hata juice here.

BAHAHAHA!

Yessssss.......
I knew Shakespeare was a good guy.
I typically hate/loathe/assume the person is incapable of having their own personal style(wrongly?) these kinds of "catchphrase t's" but I REALLY think this one deserves "kudo's-for-cleverness!!!!" points. So there you have it, my weakness. Judging clothing by its catchphrase.

*sigh* Well... its officially 5:01 somewhere :)

Pet Peeves or Things That Annoy Me Daily: Work Edition

* Slow Program: Don't get me wrong, I am openly anti-Mac and, and AND I love the Zune Media... but to have this open and playing music to me, while I have 4 other windows open, slows down my other programs- and frankly, drives me directly to flippin crazytown. This also applies to slow drivers in front of me because they think no one else has anywhere to go. Which is always the WRONG assumption when I am behind you in line.

 * Micromanagement: Specifically, getting the same email TWICE within 3 minutes, because the 2nd receiver(who was cc'd) didn't notice MY name was listed first.

* Oh there IS something to do? Thanks, I wasn't already swamped.

* Business Card Hoarders: Specifically a few insurance salesmen, who have been in repeatedly for the last couple weeks. And take 3 or 4 of the SAME business cards that they took the last time they were in. I understand if you are referring our business elsewhere, but until you can prove it, I will hold this against you. KLEPTO!!

* Oh thanks for reading that out-loud for me, since you were just going to hand it over anyway. Yeah, I am actually illiterate, I just didn't want to ask you to read it, cause that would be embarrassing.

Airplane! Another stereotyping article!

Everyone knows white pants are dangerous. But how about on airplanes?
Actually I look pretty dang cute, so just put that opinion back where it came from. HELLO ALL! I just decided to do some mid-air writing on my flight home from LA.
M is sleeping somewhat soundly to my right and to my left is a comfortable Goatee-wearing Gentleman in your typical "Jeans and t-shirt guy" stereotype. Speaking of which, so begins my list of Airplane stereotype categories that you all know you fall into at one point or another. I'm sorry to alarm you. But you fit somewhere(insert Michael Scott joke here).
I guess to be fair, I will start off categorizing myself.
--> "Frequent Flyer": Sweatpant capri's & flip flops. This girl knows the importance of being comfortable in small spaces, but at the same time "cute" for traveling opportunities(SURE I guess cute is used relatively). *curtsy* Hence the bright blue Pea Coat! Laptop in tote-like bag, not the bulky business case from Wal-mart with the crappy quilting and no pockets/flaps/slots left unequal. By that I mean pockets for everything: multiple pens, blank CD's you won't use, nailpolish, diapers, spare sub-woofer, the list goes on and on.
---@ THIS POINT I THINK ITS APPROPRIATE TO MAKE A SIDENOTE CONCERNING THE PEANUTS. "Party Mix" they are calling it now, oh excuse me... "Gourmet." I supposed this is to make it appear larger than a sugar packet, right? Yes, but not really. And also that makes it automatically classy. Lets continue, shall we? This time in alphabetical order you say? Can Do!
--> "The Asian Couple": Young or old, you've seen them. They usually fall into one of two extremes: the keep-to-themselves, or the Yell-across-the-cabin-to-each-other type. Both have gold jewelry, and could pass for 1st class, based on their attire, but you and I know they're just thrifty.
--> "The Australian": Whether or not this man is from Australia, he sure fits the part. He dons a wavy, sun-streaked mane. Chewing gum at times, obnoxiously smiling to himself. Is he high?
--> "The Businessman": He comes in two forms. #1-the Classy, and #2- the Swindler. The Classy is quietly tapping away on his blackberry or smartphone, while the Swindler is yelling INTO his. Both are getting things done, the latter altho is less effective, and less considerate of others around him. I have yet to see this is woman-form. Have you?? I would like to know of your experience. NEXT!
--> "The Carefree Scrub": Listen, I'm sure he's a nice guy or a good friend or whatever... but he's not doing my eyes any favors. He generally doesn't bother ANYone. He probably wore those jeans the entire trip without one wash, and his raggedy t-shirt ...well he flipped it inside out, especially for today's flight.
--> "The Clueless Husband": With or without wife, this guy is doing it wrong. The poor guy. He loses his ID last minute, finds it at security, and manages to lose it once more before boarding. But you know he belongs to SOMEONE because as dizzy as he looks, he's probably a great dad.
--> "The Dimwit-Botox-Lady": Looks like a cat. YIKES! Blond hair. Over-sized luggage that she can't lift, and wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much makeup for 7AM. She politely smiles & bats her 3lb false eyelashes around, fishing for help with that Louis Vuitton knockoff suitcase(its gotta be a knock-off, otherwise what is she doing in the Coach-Class?)
--> "The Exit-Rowers": That's me again. I got the middle seat tho, so spreading out isn't too huge of an option for me. But this guy- the guy in the classic blue plaid- exactly across the aisle from me, he's got the Seattle's Best cup. He's got his tray down before take-off. And he isn't paying attention to the SNORING space-leech next to him blocking the view out the window(See "S").
--> "The Preacher": Yeah, he's got his giant wooden cross(home-made no doubt) hanging on his neck, and his suspenders over his denim collared shirt. Also, he is LOUD! Holy Trout! He is louder than the whole awaiting-gate-crowd combined on his flip phone! Did I mention he's giving out his credit card number and last 4 of his social?! He's sadly asking for it. Which brings me to S.
--> "The Sleeper": This is the one that I appreciate. They don't try to make pointless conversation with you. Nor do they try to find out your whole life story, and they don't even bother to give the stink-eye to whoever just nudged them awake. Whether or not they get a full-flights rest, they are content to themselves and seem to wake up conveniently when the drink-cart rolls their way. I can't sleep sitting upright, so I sadly cannot participate, BUT that just makes me the quiet observer of these fine specimens.
--> "The Snoring space-leech": This person doesn't have any regard for physical space, OR audible space. Their snoring is terrible, as is the breath that takes up your nostril space. *shiver*
....Last but not least- I must give kudo's to the STAFF. The most important person on the plane. More important than the mysterious man flying this thing, is....
--> "The Unnecessarily-Patient-&-Hilariously-Witty-Stewardess": She KNOWS that bag isn't going to fit. But she'll HELP! She twists and she turns it, breaking a SWEAT even!! Boy, is she dedicated. And when she has no choice but to speak the unspeakable "We'll just have to check this bag, sir/ma'am," She looks like she wasn't even expecting it. Worry & concern even play across her mug- truly impressive. They don't even know what just hit them, but we do, you & I. We observe. And we write these articles.

Did I miss anyone??

Monday

I don't know what to do with myself. =/
