I want to share Seattle with the world

I've had this idea for a very long time....
And the longer I wait, the more watered down my idea will become & is becoming
.
So I'm going to have to enlist your help, people of Seattle & tourists alike... get on the streets and look Fabulous!

...And hope I catch you!

Because...
I'll make it worth your while. And in the meantime, you'll be making Seattle look classier ;) Promise.

1 Year

I watched a year swing by
without actually watching the time.
I saw almost nothing in the present.
Not my graduating joy.
Or your roses.
Or the ocean's strength.

Blind eyes that leak.
Ears that hear a moment's selection.
Hands that hold... And hold on.
A mind that locks memory at
-a landscape
-a realization
-a sound
-a feeling
-words written & read &
spoken with power,
but have seen no action.

A heart as open & warm as a box of kittens...
In the pouring sleet.
Bring the rain on,
I've been waiting for a reason to scream.

Done.

Vague.
Poured out.
Shaking
Echoing breaths over sheets
This is true
This is pain
Where's my ocean,
To save me?

Monday, August 13, 2012

Much received.

Stronger than a hundred ships,
remember?
I read to you, last November.

See the armies, with us?
See Jehovah's saving hand,
Outstretched in your behalf?
A number as grains of sand.

He'll never leave, or abandon
No need to fear, with such gifts!
No gift greater than won ransom.
Thru trials, our faith he sifts.

Righteous
Mercy
Justice
Honorable in all ways.
Loving-kindness eternally
Undeserved displays.

Jehovah is this for you.
Jehovah is that for me.

Catchin' Up! Part I.

My life has begun, guys(sarcasm!).

I do feel that I have opened a new chapter though. Lots of new experiences, lots of new feelings, more mature thoughts & decisions... don't tell my mom but... I kinda like it ;]

I have SO much to show & tell... and I know this is sort of a blogger's no-no, to give away so much at one time. But you guys totally deserve it, you've been patient(either that or you just forgot about little ol' me! =O) STILL I'll have to split this post into 2, maybe 3 different parts... there's just so much.

I'm about to expose your eyes to many spectacular images, you won't need to do anymore web browsing today. Deal?

 Enjoy, darling doves.
Firstly. I got a haircut. Yes, I even went so far as to get my hair slightly COLORED. *gasp*
Here are the stages. Anyone heard of Successful Seattle Salon-Owner Lisa Vann of Milagros? Or Bruno Elorrioroz?? You should! He's the top colorist in the WORLD as of this moment. Aveda's Master Technical Director.Yup, ya heard. He was standing in my breathing space. He delicately picked up my hair and said in his beautiful French accent *soft, but intentional gasp* "She has such beautiful natural COLOUR!" And then he formulated this happy "After" face! In order of occurrence:

Here's the fill-in story: (Can I get a "Hallelujah-you're-still-a-redhead!?") School has restarted(I had a 2 week break; too long), and I'm back to the commute-school-commute-shower-sleep-commute cycle.

I'll start as far back as I can remember... since we last talked....
The construction company I work for, has moved! That was... tiring. But hey! My temporary business cards for school, came in! THAT. IS. EXCITING.
Now I have to figure out how to get rid of 250 business cards in the next 2 months...

Kid :)
This last month has truly brought me some very strong, beautiful memories that I will cherish for as long as I live. For one thing, I got one of my best friends back. His struggle to be the best of himself has been a treacherous, threatening, & faith-strengthening experience... for both him & myself. So I want him to know how much he means to me & all our friends here, & that him being out-of-state, won't keep him from being in our thoughts & prayers of support everyday. I've never been prouder of you, Besty. You now have the entire world at your disposal. Make it worth your while :)

In addition to that, I helped my Photographer Friend move into a new house one weekend. We are monsters that rolled a PIANO out of a moving truck to her local Goodwill. Then we rescued a wandering puppy for the night & returned him to his rightful owners the next morning. Isn't he just melt-worthy?

Moving on for all you cat-people, no need to retreat to a different site :P

I was given a surprise gift. THE best surprise gift(I'm not a huge fan of surprises, shhh), need I repeat THE BEST surprise gift ever. Dudeson, these just showed up at my house! I can't rave enough. They're absolutely perfect. And they're ME. *gah!* Thank YOU! YOU!

A group of my friends were going up to Crystal Mountain for snowboarding, & altho I didn't have room in my budget for the whole affair(student still! :)), I at least went up to babysit(ha! jk guys), and perhaps ride the Gondola after the winds subsided. Wow it was a beautiful sight at the top. Here's a peek at my way up:

I've just decided that it's time to go to bed. Yes, it's 10:25pm and I have school en la manana IF ALL GOES AS PLANNED. I have TONS of Seattle adventures to share with you, but I'll save them for the next UPDATE. I promise you, the next update will happen sometime next week. Hopefully before the next 7 days have flashed before my mind's eye.

You guys have been great, really. You're my favorite crowd ;) Haha I'll exit on that note.

<3, bex

P.S. If you're experiencing any kind of snow/ice/sleet days, like I am.... DRIVE SLOW. Or better yet- bundle up and WALK somewhere :) It's fun, trust me. Safety first!!!

Friday grew wings!!

Whoa. My Friday flew by a little faster than I expected, how about yours?? I'm getting ready for bed and wanted to drop you all a line- I didn't forget my promise... Of an announcement!

Remember when I said "this dirty thing" a few weeks back? You didn't click thru, did you? :P I don't blame you. So it's called the "Survivor Mud Run" and I'll be participating tomorrow with a few friends. Wish me speedy legs and expansive lungs!!

I'll be back Tuesday with a mini-recap hopefully if I remember(someone PLEASE remind me!)!
Take care :]

'Tis time to pay Caesar. Oh wait, he's paying me!

Good Friday to you!
Have you all been good boys & girls, and filed your taxes already? I just did.
Lincoln is excited, but he's hiding his emotion here. He's not 'big' on being expressive.
Man! That is a crappy picture! Praxis! iPhone quality is only good on certain occasions.
*sigh*

You guys? I start school MONDAY. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

I mean ... yay? *shakes in the corner* I'm nervous. Not only am I going to school.... but(emphatic pause).. I'm going to school. Does that make sense? OkayOkay lemme e'splain. I'm nervous. I hate school. I'm going back voluntarily. Ayy.
Geez, that wasn't so hard was it?

Well, my week was fairly uneventful, I've been preparing for the 28th(1st day of school) for about 2 weeks now. First it was "exciting, cause I get to sleep in for a week before!", then it was... "this is happening!" and now it's just... "[dread] UGH I'm gonna have homework and projects to do."
Ew, school, how dare you lure me!
:) Just kidding, I'm ready to start something new and to have a little "college" notch in my belt of various things I happen to be interested/dabbling in.
Ok now to enjoy my last weekend before I mentally throw myself back to 11th grade(including the black emo bangs)...I'm going out of town.

Nanner. Nanner.
:]

iPhone adventures!!

You all know I switched to the dark side by now... right?

I mean, they've had hot fresh cookies, for a few years now, so I decided it would be worth my while.

Anywho... my iPhone has been serving me rather well. I HIGHLY enjoy(those of you who know me personally can attest to this) the organization of it.
If I pull an App button over another App button: MAGIC! A new folder is birthed into this world, and conveniently labeled an appropriate name(yes, all by itself!) pertaining to the contents, and THEN! AND THEN....you can rename it, if you so wish. *swoon*

I know. I was impressed too.
The next trick I will be discussing, is the cool photo-editing Apps I've stumbled onto. All you photo-pro's are already familiar with Photoshop Express(free!) and for you Hipsters, Instagram(free!). Of either sort, I haven't wasted any copious amounts of my (valueable?) time searching thru tons of Apps and eating up my precious 16Gigs(14G when you actually receive it, I learned! D=) with things that I won't get use out of.
Hey, no one ever said I wasn't practical ;)

I  was recently introduced to a website called picnik.com where you edit your own photos for FREE. Wow- it's simple AND it's effective, and DUDE it's still cheap even if you do want to use all their "premium" editing tools. I might make the investment someday, but I just don't need it enough for now. Also, I made my web banner with it ;) You're welcome.
 Thank you picnik.com!!
[shameless free marketing; feel free to return the favor.]
The other thing I really like is the instant weather report. Yeah, I'm old. I've also got Pandora at my disposal, and lastly and most high-tech-ish-ly ... Facetime. We're talking video phone calls, people. Need I say more?
Ahhhh Apple, you've given me a new world to consider. I have a lot to learn from you.

Have a safe weekend Chickens :) <3

Two-es-Day!

I'd like to start off by announcing that my 'google reader' is quite full, and I can actually hear it, long after I've closed the tab in my browser... it's like this:
"Hey YOU! Yeah, you with the FACE. Why do you subscribe to all these informational/great & colorful/hilarious blogs and then forget to READ them? And you complain about not having a book to fill your spare time... you should be ASHAMED."

And so I am ashamed. And so then I dig up old poems like this delight, to compensate(ha!). I am quite(shout-out to my friend, the word 'quite' that I keep using!) pleased with it, even as old as it is. And I wish so much that it wasn't so old.

But alas, I'll add that to the ever-growing wish-list I've recently began. :]
Ever get told off by your closed web-browsers? Yeah, me neither.... moving along folks! Here is your dosage of Poetism for the week. Enjoy it's brevity!! You'll thank me later!

In your absence since always
I've pictured you sleeping
so quiet and peaceful
a dreamer just dreaming.
Your eyelids will flutter
your hand moves to mine
I've stroked thru your hair
to help open your eyes.
If maybe someday really
I'd get that chance to cherish
your subconscious movements
in each day of marriage.

PS: It's sunny out!!!! Does this mean EARLY summer?!>!>!>>!>!!?!??!?!??!mvo;ijert5gn;jtr4gnKMSDNgfaergt

oh my gash, I'm so excited for my iphone.. everytime the FedEx truck drives by, I'm convinced it's time to commit myself to Apple, finally. But that day hasn't come yet ;) HA PRAXIS.
xoxo, THE BEX.
