I want to share Seattle with the world

I've had this idea for a very long time....
And the longer I wait, the more watered down my idea will become & is becoming
.
So I'm going to have to enlist your help, people of Seattle & tourists alike... get on the streets and look Fabulous!

...And hope I catch you!

Because...
I'll make it worth your while. And in the meantime, you'll be making Seattle look classier ;) Promise.

Ohio in snapshots

Now that I have returned & the dust has settled... here are my tiny adventures.
 I am officially back from Ohio, and I officially won't go
back for YEARS. I hope my family & the friends
I actually have left there, come visit me in Seattle now.
No offense, I'm just all Ohio'ed out.
My first childhood friend Rachel & I, bottom left.
We went to a big-kid's version of chuck-e-cheese's called "Scene 75" and played hard. We survived Glow-in-the-dark Mini Golf, climbed ourselves through the Laser-Frenzy, dislocated a shoulder in the Bouncy House, & danced the rest of the night away with excellent DJ'd jams til we were so thirsty,  the snow on the ground looked appealing. But not before the incredible 12 Foot Mosaic-tiled Michael Jackson caught my eye.
 My grandparents have such quirks. Grandma's silly sayings crack her up so hard, she's still laughing 6 minutes later. Grandpa often takes naps with shoes on, sticking out of his blankets & off the edge of the bed. And my mom's hair does it's own thing when it senses she's not using a mirror.

And last. These are where the feelings run deep. These kids sincerely weaved themselves into my brain synapses.
I miss them like crazy.
{Clockwise from top left}
Sweet baby Aurora, just new & curious with her Disney-eyes; she stole me away. Gavin's quiet sneakiness, and sincere obedience to his parent's voice melted my pre-parent core. No one besides this kid, can make his brother Maverick laugh so hilariously.
My darling Payton... who knew a 4 year old could be so witty? She's sharper than I ever hope to be & yet loving all at once. Baby Jaxon's good manner & shocking blue eyes had me captivated the whole time. I miss all my little loves.

Welcome!

Well HI :] Hey, there's a newcomer in the crowd- everyone say "HI!"

Okay, back to business....You know, as well as I do.. that summer is a busy, busy time. I am not about to spend all my waking S.P.A.R.E.(queue "quote" fingers) time staring at the computer(my job requires this also)... altho I wish I had the attention span for it! :)

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt?? You say...?

WHY YES, I DO have a life :] (teehee silly you)

I know, hard to fathom.
But, you deserve some treats. You have waited oh-so-delightfully-patient, like a good dove, and your reward will not be in vain! I have some stocked up pictures that I'm saving for a few story-time-days... You know, when it's gray outside... and you have nothing else to do.... fall back on my picture-stories :)

You guys know that internet meme regarding the "Dos Equis Beer Guy"....?
I did one :}
"I don't always drink tea, but when I do... I wear a cape."

I TOLD you you'd be rewarded ;) Feel free to mock. You know it's great.
Happy Tuesday.

"..a hundred forty characters is moooore than enough!"
... Oh, hai! You're here. What was I saying?

Wednesday I went on a bike ride!
Here's mah boys...

Today... I went with a Client to pick out their house materials...

Holy moley...4 hours later...
I was officially bored.

And then...
I SNAPPED!

And then they fed me :)
Yay!
THIS IS A PIECE OF TILE.
Isn't it purdy? It looks like metal!

The End.

My SURPRISE event is this weekend, and I'll tell you about it next week- cause if I did now.... welllllllllll that would be a DUMB move. I'm a woman *points to brain*...

Summer is nearing the riverbend

Don't act like you didn't start singing that 'Pocahontas' song.

:]

I've been doing a bit of waitressing at a family friend's Mexican restaurant for the last 2 weeks. And it's WAY more fun than I thought it would be. (Watch: tonight at work, I'll get a drink thrown in my face.)

In other news... Have I told you about how misbehaved my dogs are? They are. See...
Up on the furniture like it ain't no thang. *shakes head*

I went on a bike ride in the rain Wednesday, and almost ran THIS over.

One more thing... this girl...
she CRACKS me UP!
Most fun ever.

Incredible Photog skills!

Go adventure, outside!!
I'm writing less today, to get you to read less just for THIS WEEKEND,
since it's supposed to be so beautiful here in Seattle. Enjoy!
See you Tuesday.

Top o' the Tuesday to yer!

hai!

THIS WEEKEND!!!! I was in a photo shoot for my photographer-friend-Jenna, who is super creative & talented. She came up with this idea to photograph us in a field of yellow buttercups, & we were to act sad & forlorn over a "lost love." Oh that sounds weird to you, huh? CHECK IT OUT. As I say, don't knock it, 'til you try it ;) It turned out to be a beautiful day, and all the pollen was floating freely... now I am congested beyond belief. BUT, it was worth it. :] I know, I'm weird. Promise to go see Jenna, and the whole shebang???(coughINCLUDES-BLOOPER-REELcough) Dang, excuse my dry throat. Go see her blog NOW! She's for hire!! ;)
Here's a little teaser story for ya...

Oh HOW shall I ever recover?  ...

...His love was all I knew.
~~~
Hey, wait a sec! I'm important too!
"Plus I'm tired of sitting around moping!"
 "Time to dry our eyes, friend."
 We will pick flowers. We will see the world.
We will see new faces in our flowers!
Oh, and we'll make GRR faces at new people too.
;]
See you Friday, knucklehead.
The thing about love...
underpass near my work
This made me smile.
The thing about love is that you can find it in anyONE, anyTHING, anyWHERE.
Sometimes we just have to look a little harder than the surface to see it.
& who says it's gotta be more than just vandalizing a public underpass? ;)
I think it's perfect.
xoxo, bex
p.s.! Soon! And I mean SOON! There's gonna be another little tab born, F-Y-E.
Keep your eyes peeled. You're welcome.
An hour by the sea...
December was quite chillin'. And by "chillin'" I mean I froze my arsenal off most days... it keeps coming back tho, so... your guess is as good as mine on that. ANYWAY. Being the dummy explorer that I am, I conned a couple of my besties into coming to the Northern Land of Port Angeles with me, to run a couple errands.
While we were up there in Antarctica, we went to the ocean. YEAH. We went to the ocean. Let me tell you something... It. Was. Cold. And guess what I wore? A wool sweater. YEAH. I'm not sounding too intelligent here, so I'll just shush myself, and show you the shots. It was crisply beautiful. The pics don't relay that tho, just pretend it's magnificent. mmkay? mmkay.
Highlights: Kid, taught my cousin Adam(also one of my besties) how to skip a stone. In the ocean spray, which was about 25 degrees Fahr(-eezing!!)enheit, we stood like brave Seagulls, enduring the howling Canadian winds. I though, being a woman... gathered my few smarts that hadn't frozen over, walked across the jetty to the non-windy side, and took a couple snapshots which I cannot find anywhere right now(sorry, dolls. That's how rough it is in these streets). I apologize for the crappy picture quality... I honestly can't explain what happened... Just read on...
"Now, LISTEN Son. This is how you skip a rock."
"Use this arm. Pull back, throw, and don't lose your balance!"
"Eeeaasssy now..."
- "Like, THIS dad?!"
- "Yes. Whoa now, watch your step."
"Here GOES!"
- "Where'd it go, dad?"
*silence*
"Let me show you how it's done, son."
*iBAM!*
"I'm walking away now, you've embarrassed me enough."
- This was the part of the trip when I got bright green moss stains all over my
light-wash jeans. Yeah, that was my favorite. -
Then, Kid pronounced this land "COLD."
But I could barely hear him 'cause I was heading back to the car...
Goodbye car! Adam sold you a few weeks ago. I'm glad I got to reminisce over our good times.
*le sigh*
Have a safe week!! :)
Adventures, even the bleakest(see above), can be fun when you've got the right attitude.
So as Benny Goodman says:
"You've got to laugh a little, cry a little,
until the clouds roll by a little."
Friday: you sweet, sweet melody I sing for all week.
Hallelujah. Literally :)
Friday has come, and Friday will go, but now here you are, so listen up YO!
"Firepits are where the BEST memories are made." -C.
True, yeah? Yup. Glad we agree. Last Sunday my dad mowed the lawn. And the sun was peeking around the corner, so I hauled the troops in for a small-within-city-limits-approved-bonfire. Here's the whole scoop. I can't START a fire, but once it's alive, I totally rock at keeping it burning. Also, Jessica said I could "make it in North Dakota" because I can chop a log into kindling. THAT'S WHATS UP.
Step 1. Jessica(green) gets the fire going.
Then Shelby(pink) gives him a mustache.
Personally, I think it's proportionate to his giant stature.
Step 2. Shelby claims the fire-pit as her own.
Much like how you claim your own food in the work-place refrigerator.
Step 3. Chop more wood to keep the fire burning.
And as I was the 'photog' for the evening, no one got a shot of ME ch-ch-choppin' it up. But here is an excellent action shot of Jessica with a nice swing.
I did however,  gather a rather dashing picture of my sweet pink Keds,
after I tore up a couple logs.
...wait that sounds bad....
I think they deserve a little spotlight.
Then Patrick hit a homerun, with a pinecone. His talent is beyond me.
 See his lanyard? It's purple. Kiss that, Justin Beiber!
Oh that reminds me, I heard randomly that little J.B. got beat up by a 'fan'?
Anyone hear anything about this? Yeah me neither.... well..barely.
Back to my story - I'm easily distracted- Shelby had a rough time with her first marshmallow...
What you see here folks, is mellow, marshed all over her hand. I can't even fathom how you get that marshmallow goo all over the TOP of your fingers. The right pic is the marshmallow goo ON HER EYELASH. She had a rough evening, lets just say. At least no one lost an eyeball.
We managed to live thru it all.
Have a safe weekend! Live up those fire-pit moments, and holler
if you need me to chop any wood for ya.
I was killin' it.
<3 much, bex
New Paper
I enjoy typing. But more than typing, I enjoy w-r-i-t-i-n-g.
....Do any of you remember what that looks like?
I got a new notebook yesterday, for school... but I of course, had to christen the first page with a little doodle.
What'd you do, on your scary Monday?
Monday's don't seem so bad to me now that I have school again... I know that sounds backwards, but it's only because Monday class is simply an hour of taking notes on a Power Point presentation that my "teacher" talks over. Basically, he could email them to us, and I could sleep in more... :P Just a suggestion.
Anyway, back to my normal font size...This last week was a long one, for me. Lots of helping friends(not bad, just emotionally-demanding...) with issues, lots of waiting and waiting and WAITING for the right thing to come along :] Lots of travel; which automatically makes me ready for bed x) The actual traveling part is exciting, but when I'm done, I realize my body needs a rest(don't gotta tell ME twice).
This weekend, I am off to Seattle to finish my big 50 hours of volunteer-work for the month, and to meet lots of new people! I can't wait! It will be rewarding and fulfilling and I can't wait to have some sushi with no seafood in it. I know, I'm weird ;)
Be safe, loves. Travel responsibly, and be honest with your best friend when he/she asks: "Grrrrl, you think mah butt gettin' BIG??"
<3, bex.
ps. I got acupuncture today and it wasn't half bad. See? I'm still alive :)
I said, Good day to YOU!!!
