I've had this idea for a very long time....
And the longer I wait, the more watered down my idea will become & is becoming
.
So I'm going to have to enlist your help, people of Seattle & tourists alike... get on the streets and look Fabulous!
...And hope I catch you!
Because...
I'll make it worth your while. And in the meantime, you'll be making Seattle look classier ;) Promise.
xo, bex.

Friday grew wings!!
Whoa. My Friday flew by a little faster than I expected, how about yours?? I'm getting ready for bed and wanted to drop you all a line- I didn't forget my promise... Of an announcement!
Remember when I said "this dirty thing" a few weeks back? You didn't click thru, did you? :P I don't blame you. So it's called the "Survivor Mud Run" and I'll be participating tomorrow with a few friends. Wish me speedy legs and expansive lungs!!
I'll be back Tuesday with a mini-recap hopefully if I remember(someone PLEASE remind me!)!
Take care :]

Summer is nearing the riverbend
Don't act like you didn't start singing that 'Pocahontas' song.
:]
I've been doing a bit of waitressing at a family friend's Mexican restaurant for the last 2 weeks. And it's WAY more fun than I thought it would be. (Watch: tonight at work, I'll get a drink thrown in my face.)
In other news... Have I told you about how misbehaved my dogs are? They are. See...
Up on the furniture like it ain't no thang. *shakes head*
I went on a bike ride in the rain Wednesday, and almost ran THIS over.
One more thing... this girl...

she CRACKS me UP!
Most fun ever.
Check out Mia's own photography here.
Incredible Photog skills!
Go adventure, outside!!
I'm writing less today, to get you to read less just for THIS WEEKEND,
since it's supposed to be so beautiful here in Seattle. Enjoy!
See you Tuesday.

Tuesday's not so terrible
Oh green current, please dip and divide
beneath an invisible, treacherous line..
the foam jade sea eyes my drive, it tells me
calm is near while it's mouth speaks left & right;
signals that I'm too tired, or just too out of sight...
staying low, creeping slow, firm tides are kept so tight,
holding the moon, the sky, the shadow it provides.
Controls beseeches me to gather pieces of its fallen light
and when I watch its ease, the troubles relax inside my mind.
Again stormy motion calms my shivering worry
sending a relapse of my senses away in a hurry.
I have seconds to breathe, to re-live and forget;
to rid this teasing consciousness, pretending a duet.

New Paper
I enjoy typing. But more than typing, I enjoy w-r-i-t-i-n-g.
....Do any of you remember what that looks like?
I got a new notebook yesterday, for school... but I of course, had to christen the first page with a little doodle.

What'd you do, on your scary Monday?
Monday's don't seem so bad to me now that I have school again... I know that sounds backwards, but it's only because Monday class is simply an hour of taking notes on a Power Point presentation that my "teacher" talks over. Basically, he could email them to us, and I could sleep in more... :P Just a suggestion.
Anyway, back to my normal font size...This last week was a long one, for me. Lots of helping friends(not bad, just emotionally-demanding...) with issues, lots of waiting and waiting and WAITING for the right thing to come along :] Lots of travel; which automatically makes me ready for bed x) The actual traveling part is exciting, but when I'm done, I realize my body needs a rest(don't gotta tell ME twice).
This weekend, I am off to Seattle to finish my big 50 hours of volunteer-work for the month, and to meet lots of new people! I can't wait! It will be rewarding and fulfilling and I can't wait to have some sushi with no seafood in it. I know, I'm weird ;)
Be safe, loves. Travel responsibly, and be honest with your best friend when he/she asks: "Grrrrl, you think mah butt gettin' BIG??"
<3, bex.
ps. I got acupuncture today and it wasn't half bad. See? I'm still alive :)
I said, Good day to YOU!!!

Tuesday + Friday = Thursday. HA!
Oh wow, sorry everyone. APPARENTLY my brain is behind on what day it is. And I totally blanked that Tuesday even happened. But I am not going to let you down(totally). I've got quite a few pictures to share with you. And yes, this will be fun. I'm gonna tell you about my week :) And this doubles as Friday's post too(don't whine- no one likes a whiner) just FYI. NO, that is NOT called cheating. Ok, so maybe it is. Onward! :)
Then hell froze over. And I wore my hair curly. Really, tho. It's not too curly, it's more of a pathetic wave. You know when Napoleon Dynamite waves at his date at the prom, and she ignores him? That's the kind of pity-feeling I give myself, when I try to scrunch my hair with curling mousse, and it just falls like this. Not too terrible, I guess... if you like that whole "rejected" feeling. :P
And lastly...
pee, es: This weekend I'm going out of town and I'm going to have FUN DARNIT! :]
First things first, and that means food.
Last Saturday I made muffins. And I made quite a few. And I made them from a box (no laughing, Hoolia!). I definitely don't find plain muffin mix exciting, so I added my own extras as usual. These WERE destined to be just (blah)Oat Bran muffins. UNTIL I added molasses and cinnamon and chocolate chips.
Oh, yes I did.
Oh, yes I did.
NEXT UP!
Basic blueberry(oops, no fun inside extras), with a toasty marshmallow on top.
I kinda folded the fruit in the mixture a little too delicately...so you can't really see the blueberry color....at all. Anywho, they were scrumptious. I'm so sad you missed out ;}

And lastly...
I drove down to a little inlet area in my community to watch the sunset, because the day was clear and my brain was not. So I wanted to share that moment with my blog-babies. That's you. Sorry, you're probably not a baby. I'm just slightly callous-slash-crabby about the 2 sorta-sunny days we had, now that it's POURING rain again.
*le sigh*
Who's not surprised? [raises hand.]
pee, es: This weekend I'm going out of town and I'm going to have FUN DARNIT! :]
pee, es, es: Speaking of clearing my mind at the waterfront... I have a sweet treat for you next Tuesday!
xoxo, bex
Please use your brains this weekend, kids. No unchaperoned dangerous activities, and if you're gonna get into trouble, don't forget to call me! *holla!*

Sonny and Cher would be proud.
Dove face! You came back :] So glad. Thanks for joining me on my Friday ritual of CELEBRATING the end of yet another speedy-week! Tell me about your week, was it terrible? Was it memorable in any way?
I have something to tell you. (Shh!!) I - officially - am - a - college - student.
WHOA. I know. Calm down. Put that Silly String away! :) But whip out that Long Island Iced Tea!! I could use a relaxer. This week has been HECTIC and great. Maddening and excitingly happy. Just ready for it to balance out again(hello, WEEKEND!) and be back to work again Monday morning... PART. TIME. Ya heard!! Part time!!!
I CAN'T WAIT! The first classes I'm taking are 'Intro to Dreamweaver' and 'Intro to Systems Concepts'. I'm done talking about me. Here's a little something I wrote during a downpour that kept my mind flooded(ya like that pun?) full of things I had been feeling, that the rain helped release. OH! And Seattle is really under a Tsunami Watch right now. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? Crazy. Not nearly as serious as the one for Japan, today. :( Oh, keep them in your prayers, please. So scary!! Pick your chin up and get ready(put on your weekend pants!) to responsibly celebrate relaxation. :) Have a safe couple days. xoxoxo!!
Fake Rain.
Waves of water bullets slap the blacktop.
I don't think I've ever seen it so ridiculous-
it can't be real, because I feel like I'm watching
the fake rain in any romantic comedy....
...drenching the couple who are arguing in the "downpour"...
rekindling a love they figured had been lost.
What's my next line? And you're late; aren't you supposed to be standing here,
telling me what you hate most about me-
and it ends up being completely endearing?
You're just late, that's all. Tied up by a thousand red lights,
or an errand, that unexpectedly got drawn out.
Story of our lives, right? You and I... we're off, time-wise,
but we're right, in the rightest way.
And I'll wait.
And I won't be mad when you finally get here.
Cause that's love.
That's you & I, babe.

I don't believe you!
Friday has rolled around YET again. *shock & awe*
All this week, it's been about 3 different seasons.
Summer is the only one missing... of course -_-
It's been
1.) Sunny & Freezing(fall-like),
2.) Snowy(snow that falls as snow, and hits like rain), and disgustingly muddy everywhere
3.) Rainy & windy(sarcasm alert: MY FAVORITE!)

1.) Sunny & Freezing(fall-like),
2.) Snowy(snow that falls as snow, and hits like rain), and disgustingly muddy everywhere
3.) Rainy & windy(sarcasm alert: MY FAVORITE!)
So imagine my delight when I leave my house one BRIGHT & freezing morning for
work... and I look up to see this:
Yeah, beautiful! (Thanks iPhone!)
Then I look down, to step off the porch and see this:
Uhh, what? Snow? I don't believe it, so I'll just pretend I didn't see that.
After all, there's no snow anywhere else....
See? I don't believe it. And YES these really were all taken in the same 3 minute span.
Farmin' Washington.
Also, have you been introduced to Lincoln?
He's pretty fun. He's pretty impressive, actually. He's a gymnastics pro and an amateur in Tae Kawndo.
And he speaks Latvian.
And he speaks Latvian.
Last week, it was time for him to get a bath. Ahem.
He was very hurt by this, and let it show. So sad!
When Lincoln emerged from the cleansing tho, he has passed the 'hurt' stage, and moved onto 'acceptance.'
He didn't fight the dryer, but I could tell that all he wanted, is for the process to be over with
so we could snuggle again.
Look at that forlorn face :(
Coming out fluffier than EVER, and delightfully cuddly, I decided it would be a LONG time before I put him thru the torture chamber again. After all, he's only the best little-bear a woman could ask for!
He's embarrassed by my crazy-hair.
That's freshly blow-dried, WHAAAAAATTTTT!!!! :)
That's a sign of a good parent tho; the ability to embarrass your children at any given moment.
"Please, mom NOOO!!!"
(Wow, now that I think about it, I'm embarrassed by my own hair.)
Happy weekend days, folks. You muffin-heads be safe, or else... I don't even wanna hear about speeding tickets, or broken nails!! *shudder*
Love, love, love xoxoxo Bex...

I heart Seattle. I heart ice cream.
and now it looks like this...
I've mentioned this a couple times...but now I'm opening the forum. Whaddya think? Which do you like better? I like it, but I want more fake red :] Just to brighten it up a tad, since it has faded a little since the dyeing-date. ha! Dye-ing date.
I will change subjects now! WOOT! Over last weekend I went to a little place called SEATTLE. You may have heard of it? I went to this Ahhh-mazing ice cream place called Molly Moon's(which took forEVer to find, since I'm not familiar with the Capitol Hill area)...
They were "hosting" a breakfast; either A.)waffle & ice cream(BRILLIANT), or B.)oatmeal and ice cream(BRILLIANT) in honor of International Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day(BRILLIANT).
I think I pretty much invented this, like.... 6,789,422,734,657 years ago, but HEY if they wanna act like it's their deal, and make me a fantastic waffle so hot it deforms my plastic fork, I'm ok with it.
(*Shirley Temple Smile!*)
So then, a SWARM of joggers comes in right AFTER we have ordered, and are waiting in these floor-height kiddie-chairs, for our food to magically appear. Drinking orange juice out of paper cups- you know, like 3rd grade snack-time. Point being... well, you can imagine.
I won't elaborate. It was all of a sudden sweaty up in there, but when our food arrived we were taken back into the anticipated-bliss-that-one-can-only-dream-of.
Exhibit #1...
End of Exhibit.
Hee hee! Where you toss your tester-spoon when you're done with it.
What are your plans for this weekend?
This is the site where I found out the International EICFB Day. Seattlest!
You should check it out :) If you live around here. Don't be a creeper.
;)

100th Post, like ...forever AGO!
DUDES!
I totally skipped over the fact that last Friday, was my 100th post!
I totally skipped over the fact that last Friday, was my 100th post!
Uhhh... HELLOOOOOO RED!
Time to wake up to the pungent Folgers that. is. your. BLOG! and remember to CELEBRATE these things!*celebrates alone*
Yeah. So Wednesday morning, I stayed home from work because of the sheets of ICE
that have become our ROADWAYS. *shiver*
As I was saying, I came in around noon-thirty. With a cold.
See my article regarding KEEPING YOUR GERMS TO YOURSELF.
So I sat, cold, with my snow-jacket ON, freezing fingers(OH COLD HANDS/WARM HEARTS GIFT, pllllllleeeeeeaaase COME SOON!!), sniffling and giggling at my google-reader blog-reviews.
This morning I am cozy at home, off work AGAIN, for the holiday. BEST WEEK OF WORK EVER.
HOLY CROW THE AIRLINE RATES ARE FLYING.

HOLY CROW THE AIRLINE RATES ARE FLYING.
THE SNOW IS MELTING!!!! I loved watching the snow fall, while I was at work Monday; it was very peaceful and relaxing. Not to mention snow is somewhat DRY compared to rain, so I enjoyed the fact that I felt I was sitting inside of a snowglobe :)
My family and I cooked a huge breakfast this morning, since we were all home together:
My dad vs the Waffle maker...
It won:
The highlight was really the coffee:
See the steam? Perfect.
Tomorrow's plan: Black Friday Madness.
Coffee will be involved, rest assured.
I am in need of stocking up on Bath & Body Works EVERYTHING-supply. For the first time in my life, I'm ALMOST out of all soaps and body washes, and (ok so not lotion, I'm good there) shaving lotion. That stuff maybe be expensive but I highly recommend it. It leaves the smoothest shave ever. And yeah, we're about to border into TMI territory, so I'll end on this...
Have a great weekend everyone, no killing each other at Wal-Mart with your shopping carts!!!
Little old ladies may be slow, but they have things to buy too!!
And they grandkids that LOVE them! Just remember that.
Ok, farewell 'til Tuesday:)
Love you all <3 xoxo Bex...

Snow Days!
Guess where I am!?
AT HOME! IN BED! ALL TOASTY & WARM!
It snowed like crazy yesterday, and so today I am at home avoiding the masses of traffic that are piled up everywhere. NOT ONLY did it snow, but the temp dropped and iced everything over. Too bad we live in the wettest part of the state!
No one in this Peninsula area knows how to drive properly in these conditions, therefore this is what happens...

No one in this Peninsula area knows how to drive properly in these conditions, therefore this is what happens...
People park their cars along the side of the roads, IN MY WAY, because they didn't think it was a bad idea to take a joyride during a snowstorm, last night. Or because they didn't THINK. And I'm not just being vent-y because I've been out in it, driving my parents around with my 4wheel-drive, but HONESTLY these are people trying to rush to the mall who just are in the way; not the good people who are just trying to get home to make dinner for their families. Don't even get me started on the story regarding my 2 hour trip from Wal-Mart to home, WHICH IS LESS THAN 3 miles MIGHT-I-ADD.
ALSO another crazy thing I saw (that I didn't get a chance to take a picture of, because I'm a safe driver ;)) ...was a school bus stopped and parked on the right side of the highway because it couldn't make it up the hill. Kinda sad- those school buses were picking up stranded people on the roads...then the bus got stuck... is that IRONY?
Anywho here's some more snow pictures :)
Here's my Tawny girl in the snow. I was the last to leave work yesterday. :) This was just at 1:30pm....!
And this is the inside of my jeep, looking out to my windshield. I had to get back out carefully and scrape the windows off with a FLIP FLOP I happened to have in the very back of my Jeep, HAH!
Ingenious? I think so.
Please be safe out there, you monsters!!!

Good Morning Friday Creatures!
Aren't you all just THRILLED to be finally ascending into our Friday atmosphere???
Ohhh ME[as my grandpa used to say!]...
I am so ready for Friday, that I wrote this poem while in line for coffee this morning:
Ohhh ME[as my grandpa used to say!]...
I am so ready for Friday, that I wrote this poem while in line for coffee this morning:
"A random lady in line smiled at me,
waiting in another line.
She had 'truly happy' painted
on her face; I recognized it
because it reflected my own."
I'm not tryin' to get all sappy on ya ;) BUT I am having a happy Friday. Hopefully work doesn't kill my buzz. (Uhh, jk??) What do you dovefaces have planned for this weekend? On Saturday here in the Great(capitalized??) Northwest, it's supposed to be a low of 30 and VERY wet, Aka: "YOU'LL BE FROZEN EVEN ON THE INSIDE YOUR BONES, SO YOU BETTER WEAR A SCARF LIKE GRANDMA ALWAYS TOLD YOU."
And now I am going to make fun of Twilight. Ready? GO!
Possibly the best website I've seen in a long time. Ha! This girl is hilarious.
And her love for all things properly punctuational(YEAH that IS a word) makes my heart SWOON.
Well, I'm still searching for the PERFECT gloves to send my blog-swap Buddy, Amanda!!(See Cold Hands, Warm Hearts promo) If you have any recommendations, send them my way. I can always be found at zomgitsfriday[at]gmail[dot]com
Who's been keeping up with Conan???
TELL ME HOW AWESOME IT'S BEEN! I have missed it :(
Love you, muffins! Have a safe, fresh and frilly weekend!

No Dying. Just Squeal Happy!
Usually I stay positive. And don't put things like this up(especially on a Friday):
I felt this necessary, as soon as I ran across it.
I worked on my grandpa for a few years, before he quit smoking. And for people I love today- I hope it takes A LOT less than a couple years, to convince them that this is a nasty addiction that needs eradicated! Yuck!
*steps off her soapbox*
And now I will share the CUTEST thing I have come across today! Lady of the Lake! (CLICK THRUUU!!!!) Watch this sweetheart enjoy her inner tube, and be sure to read the little caption. I LOVE this type of dog-Weimaraners - they are such characters! Not sure I would have my pup's tail clipped tho, if I had one :( Seems unnecessary! OH and this one too. Her owner threw a Weimaraner Party. What a cute idea!
(photo ?)
JUST LOOK HOW PRECIOUS THEY ARE!!
What's on your agenda for the weekend?
I went to see the Seattle Sounders play last Friday!! WOOT!
I've never been to a Sounders game, so I had the ultimate blast out with my girls!
GO!!(..excitement withers..) uhh... GO TEAM!!!
yeah...
xoxoxx bex <3
And just FYI it's supposed to rain BOTH Saturday & Sunday here in Seattle. Grrrrrreeeatttt....

friday's delight-ays...
I walked in the rain today
I felt the rain so soft yet instant and bold against my face
I heard a waterfall so tender, on top of the open leaves,
under the spitting clouds...
The air so fresh, I even smelled cucumbers not yet picked from the earth
and I slipped on man's white paint
but I felt the cushion of soil catch my knee and palm.
Here lies nature, concealed. But it opens its hand to me, a peek...

ZOMG-ITS-FRIDAY...Be thankful or else!
<3 <3 <3 <3
Today, as with everyday, I will find something or someone to be thankful for. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, be the balanced opinion in my group of friends, & act as peace ambassador between certain....people... And I never regret those decisions. Hopefully most don't see me as overbearing or bossy, but I can be somewhat abrasive when I am being the "peacemaker" or "balanced opinion"...
Don't you often find tho, that people don't WANT to hear the reasonable viewpoint?
(heh heh, maybe that's why I'm a bit more tender than I used to be, about this subject)
That's what I come across a lot. But then out of no where someone will surprise me (I'm not a huge fan of surprises, but these kinds are mighty PLEASANT!), by calming down and listening to reason, and then saying "Ok I can see that side of it. I'll give it another shot, and try this situation again." I love love love those moments; and it makes it an even happier occasion because I see a quality in that person, that will remind me what I love about them. Perhaps a side of them I forgot was there.
Depending on the circumstance/argument/situation, you'll see a different but positivity growing.
And that's what we're doing, right? Growing :)
So here's to my best friends, you know who you are.
The ones who make me smile, who make me madder than a hatter!
The ones who I look up to & admire because of their strength through trials, their independence, their true grit & stamina! And especially those who bounce back, when life knocks them down. These are the inspiring stories I love to write about. Thanks for being stubborn sometimes, thanks for being transparent, thanks for loving me despite my crazy. But most of all, for being the right friend for me.

Hello darlings.
<3
The other week I got a peek-a-boo highlight in my bangs.
What do you think?
Also I wanted to give this Friday to a favorite duo of mine,
the legendary Simon & Garfunkel.
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE.
I highly recommend you take a few moments of quiet, to yourself before the big weekend's events and have a listen to 'Bookends.' Speaking of that song, this photographer I came across takes beautiful pictures. I mean... AMAZING. Jaw dropping. Check it out here :)And on his site once you click-thru, the background music is 'Bookends,' naturally ;)
Have fun :) BE SAFE out there.
Much love, Dovefaces. <3

SEATTLE. AGAIN!
Seattle fun was had again.
And it did NOT rain. Just for you, little doveface- who was about to ask.
And it did NOT rain. Just for you, little doveface- who was about to ask.
Here are some treats from my weekend! Enjoy and have lots of chocolate!! I know I will....
| This mid-blinking guy on the left was visiting his brother(on my right). MY HURRRRR looks good here, so yeah. |
This was the group(see Praxis far right!), plus the adorable chica w/the houndstooth scarf a few pix above. I personally, haven't been to the Space Needle at night in YEARS, so I had to tag along. Also half the group who was supposed to go, bailed last minute, so it was relaxed and small, but FUN! We met a bum who divulged that he was related to Betty CrAcker. If I knew who that was, I'm sure she was a lovely lady, but I don't.
EITHER WAY here are MORE(!) pictures from Seattle:
The gross & germ-infested, but famous 'Gum Wall'
Gag me.
Some lovely ladies(and Patrick! Top-Right!) who dared to travel with me ;)
Creepy Silver Guy(TM). I couldn't keep looking at him. I knew at any moment he would just BURST into my face with evil laughter and kidnap me. *shiver*
Thanks for sharing my weekend with me, Doveface! Sorry yesterdays post was... dull. But feel free to buy me one of those gorgeous trees ANYWAY ;} I know it's in your kind heart.
Have a cheerful week, and enjoy that sunshine!
<3 xoxo Bex.
