Rhetoric

Both silent
And invisible to themselves
Both only see the other
And the work to get there.

I once asked in rhetoric,
Do you smile to hear my name?
And you once read and scoffed
At the simplicity of your smirk.

You have a past I am guessing at,
And before long I will ask.
Will you decline to answer
Instead of moving forward- Where we belong?

I will discern of course, if it is not
my place to ask.
I couldnt stand to think that I ever stood where I wasn't wanted.
